Day Date Style + Dior Exhibit

We hear a lot about Date Night, but I’m a bigger fan of day dates. Perhaps it’s because I now like to go to bed at 9pm.

My favourite day date is to head into the city and see an exhibit or a show, followed by lunch or coffee.

I like a ballet flat or a low heel on a day date, since running around stilettos in museums makes you look like you are 20 years old and have watched too many SATC reruns.

This Leonard pump is cute and the ankle strap ensures you won’t walk out of it. (Does anyone else walk out of shoes? When I worked downtown, I was forever leaving a shoe behind on the street. It was not a fit issue. I think I’m just really clumsy!)

Day date dressing involves a great little coat. No mom puffer jackets need apply. I’m loving the J Crew Icon trench (30% off this weekend.) We are weeks away from being able to pair it with a nice scarf and shed those dull winter coats for the season.

A cute little sweater is less bulky than a blazer when running around. This little cardigan has such pretty eyelet lace detailing.

Today, we are seeing the Dior Exhibit at the ROM, which promises to be excellent.

I’ll let you know about it next week!

It’s a long weekend for many, and I hope you take advantage of the extra time.

  1. Day dates are indeed fun and I love nothing better than a traipse around a museum exhibit and lunch on such occasions. Please do post on the Dior exhibit. Would love, love, love to see that for myself, thank you.
