Ten Things for September

Happy Monday!

Today is cool and rainy, which is my favourite kind of day. I hear the mercury is heading back up, but I’ve been enjoying the cool days. It’s starting to feel like fall.

I’m forever focused on finding things that work for me in life and sharing them in this space. Here are some of my favourite finds for September.

Netflix Picks:

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. If you want a gentle film with pretty costumes, gorgeous scenery, and half the cast of Downton Abbey, this is your movie. It’s a great watch on a cool evening.

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. I love a good high school movie and this one is very well done. The world (well, the world according to Twitter)  has fallen in love with Peter Kavinsky and it’s not hard to see why. It’s a great rainy weekend afternoon choice.

The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand. The book is perfect if you are craving one last hit of summer. Hildebrand is the queen of the Nantucket beach read and this book – a mystery set around an upscale  beach house wedding – does not disappoint.

The Rules of Magic. I’ve finally got around to starting the audio version of this prequel to Practical Magic by the wonderful Alice Hoffman. It’s already so good that I’ve slowed down my listening to savour it. I rewatched Practical Magic on the weekend to pull me back into world of the Owens women. It’s the perfect book to usher in fall.

Mary Queen of the Angels Oracle Cards. I don’t believe in divination but believe in divine inspiration and I love the messages on each of these cards. They never fail to inspire and the images are beautiful.

Rose Quartz Angels. I’ve always loved the grounding nature of rose quartz. I’ve started giving rose quartz angels as gifts and they are always appreciated.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Sake. I originally ordered this in the Marshmallow shade, but it made me look like a barbie corpse. I loved the clean and lasting formula, however, so I swapped it for Sake. Love. It’s a nice mauve pink with great staying power and reminds me a little of Urban Decay’s HG colour, Backtalk.

Beautycounter Volume and Shape Collection. This shampoo smells amazing, It reminds me of Sprite, which sounds weird but, trust me, it’s really good. I alternate with my Davines Alchemic line in Silver  (love!) to offset any brassiness caused by the sun. I’m trying to decide if I want to grow out the bleach at some point. I’d like a more natural look but am not quite yet ready to go full crone, which is – I suspect – where I may be headed.

Organo Gold Latte. I got hooked on this healthier coffee, which is a source of Ganoderma (the goodness that is in mushrooms.) I usually have trouble with caffeine but this does not give me any caffeine buzz. And it’s so tasty. It makes me want to get out of bed in the mornings. (Check with your doctor before taking, just as you would with any supplement.)

Copaiba Oil. OK, oily goodness, where have you been all my life? I swear I sleep better when I put this in my bath. Plus, I like the earthy scent.

Have you found anything that makes your September sweeter?

    • Awww. Thanks for commenting. I really appreciate hearing from you! Those sound like great things for September. I love twinkle lights, but only use them at the holidays. I think perhaps I should use them all year round too! I’ll check out When Calls the Heart. I’ve heard great things about the series. Enjoy your week! XO
