Mid September Finds

How are you? I’ve been deep into rewrites and edits so I’ve been absent from blogland for a bit. In my free time, I’ve been busy making pumpkin scones and muffins and repinning tartan on Pinterest in anticipation of the arrival of fall.

Here are some of the other things I’ve been enjoying this season:

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. It’s a big soapy read that feels like classic Hollywood insider gossip. Word to the wise: don’t read the last few chapters at the indoor trampoline park on a PD day unless you have a hankie in your bag.

Barefoot Dreams Circle Cardi. Now that we are having chilly evenings, I’m living in the Barefoot Dreams cardigan I picked up at the Nordstrom sale in the summer. It’s cozy and warm and washes up beautifully.

Sézane Charles cardigan. I don’t own this, but love the look of the marled grey. The lace cuffs are everything.

Nude by Nature Blush in Pink Lily. I wanted a blush with some red undertones and this is a winner. Plus, like Beautycounter, it’s free from ick.

Gossip Girl. Last week marked the 11 year anniversary of launch of Gossip Girl. I’ve been rewatching it on Netflix and am thinking of bringing back the headband.

A Simple Favor. I’ve always liked Blake Lively (see above) but she is a delight in this film (as is Anna Kendrick.) If you are over the whole Gone Girl thing, this is the movie for you. And Lively’s wardrobe is #goals. You will want to be buying suits and gloves and brogues: fair warning.

I adore books about the art world. I’m currently reading The Art Forger by B.A. Shapiro in anticipation of her next book, The Collector’s Apprentice, which is out in October.

I’m planning to den in doing a lot of reading this fall. My Kindle is loaded with a bunch of books and pre-orders including:

Family Trust by Kathy Wang. Because it’s supposed to be for fans of Crazy Rich Asians.

A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult. Because Jodi.

The Fabulous Bouvier Sisters by Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger. Because Jackie and Lee.

Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty. Because Liane.

Hope you are enjoying the fall!

Love to hear from you!
