I hope you are having a lovely week. We are facing wind storm warnings. This has been quite the winter. Doomsday believers must be having a field day. Here are some things that have distracted me from the weather.
Zhushing. I needed a large piece of artwork to cover an ill-placed light switch and I picked up this piece by Montreal-based artist William Parker (I pre-ordered it months ago and it just arrived.) CB2 is a surprising source of nice art pieces (they are limited edition prints.) As I age, I find my taste is running more to contemporary acrylics and photography. There are some great, budget-friendly pieces out there.
Cocooning. I’ve been lusting after linen bedding for a while, but did not love the price point. H&M Home now carries reasonably-priced linen duvet covers and I ordered a set in the grey. I’ll let you know if it’s a keeper.
Wearing. I recently discovered cop.copine, a brand from France that’s in Canada and the US. I picked this Agadir skirt up in their 70% off sale. Aces!
Trending. I’ve always gravitated towards French Girl style and I’ve been looking for a costume gold pendant necklace ever since I read this piece. I wear this cheap and cheerful ($12.50!) J. Crew Factory piece on its own or layer it with my Miraculous Medal necklace from Etsy and my Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra pendant. Winning!
Watching. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. This season looks so promising. Denise Richards and Lisa Rinna both have husbands that used to be married to Nicollette Sheridan? Yes, please. I live for this kind of crazy.
Reading. Dodging Energy Vampires by Christiane Northrup, MD. If you find you tend to attract energy vampires that drain you dry, this book is an amazing resource. It helps you identify and avoid these people, and establish boundaries to protect yourself. If you are an empathic type, this is a must-read.
Listening. Somehow I managed to miss Andy Grammer’s Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah) when it came out, but a snippet of it is used in a cruise ship commercial, of all things. You cannot watch the video without instantly feeling better.
I hope you have a wonderful week. Stay warm/cool/dry.
